Verze LLC · Live-stream games

Turn a live stream into a game the whole room can play.

We build social interactive games for Douyin and TikTok LIVE. The host launches a game on their broadcast, the audience plays from the chat, and everyone watches it unfold on screen in real time.

What we build

Games designed for a host, a chat, and ten thousand strangers.

Live-stream games are a new format. They have to read well on a phone-sized broadcast, respond within a second, and stay fun whether ten people or ten thousand are playing.

💬

Chat-driven play

Viewers join, vote, answer, and move by typing in the chat. No download, no sign-up, no friction between watching and playing.

🎁

Likes and gifts as mechanics

Engagement becomes gameplay. Likes charge a meter, gifts trigger power-ups, and the room feels the effect on screen immediately.

🤝

Host co-op and versus

Two hosts link rooms (连麦) and their audiences play together or against each other, with modes built for the platform's rules.

📺

On-screen game cards

A Canvas-rendered game card runs inside the broadcast, so the game is the show, not a side window.

How it works

Three moving parts, one second of latency.

A live game is a small distributed system. Here is the shape of what we build on Douyin's open platform, and what we're bringing to TikTok.

Host panel

The host opens the game from the streaming companion app (直播伴侣), picks a mode, tunes the rules, and starts a round. The panel also handles connection checks for linked rooms.

Game card on the broadcast

A Canvas game card renders live inside the stream. It receives open data from the room, such as comments, likes and gifts, and turns it into moves, scores and effects.

Real-time backend

Game state, matchmaking between rooms and anti-abuse live on the server. On Douyin that runs on 抖音云 over a private link. Our own services run on Azure.

Why Verze

Early, focused, and shipping.

We're a small team at the start of a big format. Here's what that means for the people who join now.

A format that's still being invented

Live-stream games don't have a rulebook yet. You'll design mechanics, not implement someone else's.

Two platforms, two markets

We build for Douyin in China and TikTok globally. The same idea has to survive two audiences and two sets of platform rules.

Ship, watch, adjust

Games go live in front of real streams. You'll see viewers react to your work the same day it lands.

Real-time engineering problems

Thousands of inputs a second, sub-second feedback, and a frame budget on a phone. The hard parts are the fun parts.

Ownership from day one

Small team, wide scope. You'll own a game or a system end to end and carry it through to live streams.

Creators as partners

We work directly with hosts and the platform's joint-operation programs, so what we build is tied to what streamers actually need.
